Hello! Thank you for stopping by. My name is Andrea Turk and I am an Illustrator and Surface Print Designer.

I was born in leprechaun country, Northern Ireland, where I gained a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles, a NISBI, and a Diploma of Industrial Studies. After graduating, I lived 12 amazing years in London employed by various Children's companies. I designed, directed art and managed designers. Working to tight deadlines was the industry norm and I am comfortable in high-pressure situations. I travelled all over the world designing, working with factories, and researching trends. I particularly love the shops in London, Paris, Barcelona, and Tokyo.

I then spent a further 16 wonderful years with my own creative agency designing surface patterns and prints for the Children's market. My artwork has sold to American Greetings, Paperchase, Hallmark, Papyrus, Pet Smart, Old Navy, Carters, Kids ii, International Greetings, Jo-Ann Stores, Hobby Lobby, Barnes and Noble, Disney, Warner Bros., and Design House Greetings to name but a few. My career to date has seen me working comfortably across a variety of projects and with clients across time zones.

I currently live back in Northern Ireland and work from my wee studio in the garden, where I paint, craft, sew, and daydream. I share my hopes and aspirations with my husband, two dogs, and a cat. My favourite colour is green.

Recently I loved illustrating "Do Kangaroos Have Eyebrows?" and definitely want to continue illustrating picture books and also board books. If you have a project for me I would love to hear from you.

I work traditionally in watercolour, gouache, colouring pencil, hand painted collage, acrylic inks and finish the work digitally. I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

You can also see bits and bobs from me on social media, icons at the top and bottom of the page.

Testimonial from Bob Walker, author of "Do Kangaroos Have Eyebrows?"

The most fortunate thing that happened to my children’s story, “Do Kangaroos Have Eyebrows?”, was artist extraordinaire Andrea Turk kindly agreeing to illustrate it.  Her talent and vision brought the story to life in vivid, joyful and inspiring ways, transforming my short piece about children having quirky questions for their parents (in a familiar bid to avoid bed-time) into a colorful adventure of the imagination that has fun surprises on every page.  But equally important was Andrea’s unceasing support of this neophyte author, patiently explaining the book-creation process and providing invaluable tips each step along the way.  I cannot say enough about her art, vision, and kindness – what an amazing journey.”

Please contact my agent amy@illo.agency for any projects, commission and / or licensing that I am suitable for .
